• Ive got a wordpress that is hosted on godaddy for the domain http://www.thebettermusicbureau.com

I went ahead and installed wordpress using godaddy hosting. I go to http://www.thebettermusicbureau.com/wp-admin, log in and there is no option to add plugin and no jet pack features, nothing!

I called godaddy and they said they did everything right on there side and its probably a problem on the wordpress side.

If anyone can give me any kind of troubleshooting tips to help me fix this issue or just an answer it would be greatly appreciated!

  • Are you able to directly access the plugins page by going to
    http://www.thebettermusicbureau.com/wp-admin/plugins.php ?

    Thanks for the response!

When i go to the plugin link you provided it asks for a login so i log in and then it takes me to a blank page.

Nothing is on the page. Just a blank white screen.

Can you access your web files via ftp? You might try uploading a fresh copy of the wp-admin and wp-install folders.

i do have access to the the files via ftp on godaddy. How do i get a fresh copy of the admin and install folders?

    Are you using 3.3.1? http://wordpress.org/download/

You probably don’t need to upload the wp-content folder.

yes it is the latest wordpress 3.3.1

Ok then download that zip file, and drag and drop the wp-includes and wp-admin folders up. It just sounds like you’re missing some important files

i replaced the includes and admin folder from the wordpress zip to my ftp client. Still no plugins. I then replaced all the files from the zip to the client, still nothing.

GoDaddy is the worst for WordPress. I have an account that I use as a testing environment set up with them. They are notoriously slow. The best thing to do would be to go into your control panel/dashboard, then set up a blank MySQL database & then manually install WordPress your self. It’s not complicated at all. It sounds as if something has gotten corrupted during the installation process. Just make sure that you download the newest version of WordPress from wordpress.org
