Godaddy employee disabled my plugins!

  • I emailed Godaddy tech support about a speed issue.
He went in and disabled my plugins. He didn’t ask for my password.

Fair enough he was doing a test to determine issues but still…what if an employee wanted to do harm?

Your hosts have access to all of your files and your databases. They can (quite literally) do anything that they want to your site – including removing everything. If they did not have this level of access, they could not host your site(s) or provide any hosting support.

Thanks esmi, that is quite an eye-opener.

Just shows that however ‘secure’ your site may be, if an employee with bad intentions wanted to harm your site they could really do harm.

And unpublished pages are not a safe place to store personal data!
