I’m looking into a Godaddy Linux Hosting plan. Thing is I’m confused on 2 things

1.) If I chose Linux over windows – What difference does it make for the CONSUMER who surfs my page… anything?

2.) How does Godaddy live up to ANHosting, or powweb, or bytehost. Is it more difficult to set up, maintain, etc.

I’m kind of new to this, but I’m under the impression that once its set up (on any server) its simple – like blogger.com’s GUI.

    Would love any feedback/advice. Thanks!

  • 1) Not one little iota. But your WordPress blog will run much better.

    2) No clue and perhaps a bit beyond the scope of these forums. 😉

You might enter GoDaddy in the search field here and look around. As I recall, there’s a little wrinkle to the install, but there are a lot of folks using ’em for WP blogs.

I installed wordpres on godaddy last week — I had no trouble other than navigating around their overbloated user panel on their own site.

    thanks Handysolo!!

whooami: I’d have to admit, their panel is a little unnessesary. But I set it up, too. I think I’m good to go.

I’d agree with whooami on the bloated user panels… and they require a toll call for support, unlike midphase and AN Hosting, which I have also used a lot.
