I installed WordPress in my root directory. I later switched to a static home page by creating a new home page and new blog page, then went into Settings -> Reading and under Front Page displays I selected Static Page. I then selected the new home page as the Front Page and the blog page as the posts page. I never changed the WordPress url or the site url, nor did I copy and move any php files in my directory.

I want to have my blog as my home page again. I went back to settings and selected posts as my front page display. When I enter my domain name, http://templawellness.com, my blog loads. My problem now is that it isn’t linked with “Home” in the navigation bar. If I click on Home, I get the content from the static home page, not the blog.

How do I get “Home” in the navigation bar to display my blog? As of now the only way to access it from other pages in my site is to manually enter my url in the address bar.

unpublish that home page and then in your custom menu (appearance -> menus) add a new link to home in the custom links box to your blog post page using the full URL of your site and them move it to the top of the menu.

    hopefully that will work…

And of course if I remove the static home page, then I have no “Home” at all in my navigation bar.

    I am using WordPress 3.1.

if you remove that page then the home link should disappear and then you can just add in the new one via the menus tool.

    It worked! Thanks theotherlebowski 🙂

    coolbeans 😀

I am a bit confused by all that. I had my home page as the first subject on my navigation bar – it is now gone, I don’t know what I did.

My home page is still in my categories list, so how do I get it from there to first in the navigation bar, and is there a way you can decide what sequence the subjects come in the navigation bar?

    Thanks.
