    EMAIL DELIVERY ERROR: WP Mail SMTP plugin logged this error during the last time it tried to send an email:

    Mailer: Gmail
    {
    “error”: “invalid_grant”,
    “error_description”: “Token has been expired or revoked.”
    }
    Consider running an email test after fixing it.

    Over the last few months we’ve been getting these errors on our websites randomly and we’ve been able to fix them by simply reconnecting the GMAIL accounts.

    However 2 weeks ago all our websites received this error, we didn’t know about it until a couple days ago and some of our customers lost many leads as a result.

    We don’t have the pro version of the plugin and we also didn’t have a plugin to record form entries.

    Is there a place where these emails would be recorded? Or are they lost forever?

    Thanks for reaching out. Google revokes the account access on many conditions, common are when you change your account password or enable two-factor authentication in your account. Unfortunately, we don’t have the ability to recover emails sent when your account isn’t connected.

    I apologize for any inconvenience caused by this. For future such issues, you might want to consider upgrading to pro version or install other email logging plugins.

    Thanks for responding.
    I’m aware of Google’s revocation conditions and although some of these conditions may have been met that still doesn’t explain the mass disconnection we experienced.
    Over 30 websites were disconnected around the same time, and we know for a fact no one has touched the admin account or website settings on those websites for months.

    I’m just wondering if there’s a feature to notify the website’s admin about these errors when they happen.

    Thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately, I’m not aware of why exactly Google is revoking the access lately. Could you please let me know if you’ve 30 different accounts authorized for 30 different websites and you’re having issues with all of them?

    There’s a feature that displays an email delivery errors on the dashboard when the last email sent from your site failed. I do agree other forms of notifications would be super helpful. I’ll add a note of this to consider it down the road as we plan our roadmap for the future.
