    Hi guys,

I set the plugin up according to the tutorial and everything works fine… except that each message is sent twice. One copy goes to the right address, and another to [same user]@www[domain], causing an error.

Besides not wanting double messages, I cannot find where the “www” part is set, in order to disable that.

    Can anybody help?

  • Hi @tracian,

Are you having such issue with all the emails sent from your site including the test email from WP Mail SMTP? You might need to follow this troubleshooting guide to figure out the issue.

    Thanks!

No, the test message comes is just fine – everything else is also sent to the wrong address.

I checked the guide you linked, but it doesn’t seem to apply to this case. Any further advice?

    Hi @tracian,

The test emails are sent only to the correct email address? What other emails are you referring to? Your mailbox provider might be causing this behavior. Are you having an issue with any receiving mailboxes or with emails specific to your domain only?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

test emails are correctly sent to the site admin only.

Any email from site users are sent both to the site admin AND to the site admin email address with the addition of an unwanted “www.” in the domain part. As a result, every time a user sends an email through the site i receive the message, followed by an error report stating the message could not be delivered to [me]@www.[mydomain].

The site is using GSuite as the email provider (I have other sites running fine on a similar setup), and the error is with site only, which is the only one using your plugin.

    Hi @tracian,

Thanks for the details. I’m not sure how a user sends an email through your site to you and unwanted www. Are you using any forms to send the emails? It looks like the issue with plugin sending the emails, the emails are already sent to you and wanted wwww and is routed through WP Mail SMTP. What happens if the email is sent to other email addresses than yours?

    Please let me know!

    Hi,

I found the culprit! No idea why, but the Divi contact form decided to spontaneously change the delivery address (yet another bizarre Divi thing), causing the strange behavior. I reset it, and now things are working fine.

    Thanks for your help!
