 * With difficulties at almost every step, I am not sure if I have your plugin configured—
   or not. I wanted to avoid using the Google API, but gave up on getting the SMTP
   to work with Bluehost.
 * The only way I’ve been able to get this far with the Google API was to create
   a dummy email address of
 * > [wordpress@mysite.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/gmail-api-confusion/wordpress@mysite.com?output_format=md)
 * because either the API or your plugin create it, with no available option to
   change it to the correct email.
 * Now I have authorized it with Google multiple times and continue to get the message
 * > You have configured OAuth 2.0 authentication, but have not received permission
   > to use it. Grant permission with Google.
 * How do I clear this message? Is the plugin configured or not? And if it’s not,
   how do I fix it? I have successfully sent two test messages.
    At the moment it
   is only on the blog page, but soon to be site-wide. I really need it to work!
   The site is [here](http://barlowstrategies.com/blog/).
 * Fyi, I don’t know if they have changed their interface for Google API since you
   recorded your video, but the options for things like credentials are completely
   different from what is shown. This is a new area for me, so I ended up doing
   a lot of extra research to answer questions and am still not 100% certain I chose
   all of the right settings.
 * Thank you

 * As an update, several more test messages have been sent so, inspite of the error
   message
 * > You have configured OAuth 2.0 authentication, but have not received permission
   > to use it. Grant permission with Google.
 * it is giving the impression that it is working. Since I’ve never used this before
   I don’t know what to look for to give it a clean bill of health. I hope support
   will visit the forum soon…
 * I am also going to try installing this on another site with another host. It
   would be really great to know how to prevent the Google API from generating the‘
   wordpress@’ email address.
 * thank you

 * [@catwingz](https://wordpress.org/support/users/catwingz/) I was experiencing
   a similar issue and the solution was to momentaneously disable my caching plugin(
   w3 Total Cache) when granting permission.

 * Thanks, but I don’t have a caching plugin on the site. Since there was no support
   I also moved on to a different newsletter solution.
