Gmail address seems to fail validation: Failed to send you message

Hi,
When submitting a form with an @gmail.com address, the following error message is presented: Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.
When trying to submit from another address the submit does succeed. For example user@gmail.com fails and user@gmmail.com succeeds.
When the send fails however, we do see the submitted data coming up in the internal registration (database captures all form submits in a booking system). Only the email does not get sent.
