  • I’m having a similar issue; neither [global_user_firstname] nor [global_user_lastname] are working for me on the New User Registration – For User email. Any help would be very much appreciated!

    Hi @arnoutpullen and @dlandoncole,
    Thanks for your messages.

I’ve just tested this and it seems to be working for me.

How are you creating users? Is it via a front-end form, a plugin, or just normally via the WP Admin?

    Thanks,
    Jack

    Hi @voltronik,

I’m creating users with Cimy User Manager; do you think that might be the problem? I appreciate that you’re not responsible for other plugins, but I’d be really grateful for any ideas!

    Best,

    David.

Just to add to that – I’ve checked and it is working properly when I manually add a user, so I presume the issue is with Cimy User Manager. I’m looking to import several hundred users and don’t really want to do them one at a time; do you have any recommendations for plugins to batch import users?

    Thanks again 🙂

    Hi @dlandoncole,
Ah, I have heard of that plugin having issues with BNFW before actually. I’ll make sure that I update the Known Issues page on the BNFW website with this information.

I haven’t had any direct experience with batch importing users using a plugin however. Have you tried something like WP-CLI instead for this? I think it can read users from a CSV file.

    Thanks,
    Jack
