In SEOPress’s XML/HTML Sitemap settings I have checked “include” for categories. But, Google Search Console is giving me a “Submitted URL marked ‘noindex’” error for all my categories. When I go to my blog’s edit category page, under SEO-Advanced there is a check in the box for “Do not display this page in search engine results / XML – HTML sitemaps (noindex)” and that box is greyed out so it can’t be changed. So, this means that SEO Press is not following its own global settings. What do I need to do, or is this an SEOPress bug that needs to be fixed?

    Hi,

what’s the URL of your site?

Check your global meta-robots settings from SEO > Titles and metas (browse each tab).

Thank you very much. So, there are two checkboxes you can choose to index/noindex. I found the second one in Titles and Metas under the taxonomies tab.

I think you’re confusing the indexing of content via meta robots (SEO > Titles and metas > index / noindex) and adding (or not) content to the sitemap.

The sitemap is not used to manage the indexing of your content.

It’s a help for robots to crawl faster your site.
