given functionality migrated to core WordPress how do I know if I need this?

    I have looked in my folder of .po and .mo files each each pair has an associated file ending in .l10n.php

    I have not installed this plugin

    Does this mean I do not need this plugin given functionality has been moved into core WordPress?

    Pease check the plugin readme:

    Attention: most functionality of this plugin has been merged into WordPress 6.5! You might not need it anymore.However, this plugin is still relevant for cases where language packs are not downloaded from WordPress.org but somewhere else, for example if you are developing your own plugins or using commercial plugins.

    Thanks for replying. I have language packs originally from WordPress.org, but the downloads were not automatic and have since been modified several times.

    Can you answer my original question? Is the presence of files ending with .l10n.php a sign this plugin is not needed?
