Giveaway Product on Empty Cart

    Hi,

    I’d like to use your plugin to give my users a free downloadable product.

    The users would get the coupon code url upon signing up for my newsletter.

    Currently this only works if there is minimum 1 product in the cart (I did not specify any requirements for this coupon in settings), if the cart is empty I get “Coupon applies to 1 quantity. Please move eligible number of products in the cart to redeem the coupon.” error on the coupon url.

    Is there any way to remove this 1-product minimum and get the coupon working on an empty cart?

    Any help would be appreciated. 🙂

    Hi @neymue,

    Thanks for contacting us on this forum.

    In WooCommerce, the coupons cannot be applied if there is no product in the cart. Therefore, it is not possible to apply a coupon in an empty cart. Hope you understand.

    As a workaround, you may create a dummy product with zero price so that users can apply the coupon after adding this product. Please be aware that the coupon will be applied when the link is visited after adding the dummy product to the cart.
