Is that what you did? That should have allowed you to enter text in a different color. The color in the little box changes, but the text doesn’t. * Only, when I gave up, closed the program, forgot about it but then returned, It worked. So, I must have done even that wrong. Sigh. * Yes. I get that button. it’s red. The text however doesn’t change to red. The font, the size of the font, all that changes when I change the properties but no red. * Yesterday I became exhausted and gave up. I closed the program and forgot about it. But later I still wanted the red asterisks, so I opened it. If I used the Contrast tool in the color thing, then GIMP brings it up over and over again. * So, you didn’t ever use my IRS image before. When you went to use the text editing tool there weren’t any saved things in it. So, you got red. Whereas, when I’ve previously used xxxx over my social security number, in black, GIMP thinks I still want to use black… Could that be it? * I know I’ve cleared the text preferences a few times. It could be after one of those clearings that red worked. * Also, if I use an image previously saved in GIMP, then maybe I can’s change the text color if it is already established??? * Could you write the steps you used to get the red.
