Hi again @hodyshoran
Sorry to hear about this. How many artists do you have in the system, and how many shows?
Could you share a screenshot of your Artists page with some artists in the list?
I’m thinking what happens is that the system pulls the artist list, and then queries how many shows each artist has and that one might take long and hang the system.

I have the exact same thing .. I have heaps of artists, but I can’t even delete any.
Hi @btippet
Sorry to hear about that. I’d like to ask for some more info.
WordPress and GigPress version.
PHP version.
Is this happening when you try to create a new Gig (Add a show page) or when you are trying to add a new artist on the Artists page?
How many gigs and how many artists do you have?
I can’t even delete any
You can only delete artists who are not linked to a show. Is this maybe the case?

Thanks for your reply.
Wordpress – 5.8.1
GigPress – 2.3.25.1
PHP – 7.4
I deleted all my shows and started again, due to covid it hadn’t been used for ages. The reason I cant delete an artist is because the page locks up, it shows a page an a bit of artists. I might have 500 artists in there
Adding new artists to an event/gig works fine, but I can’t edit them for their webpage or other details.
@btippet
I think that happens because:
– there are a lot of artists
– the number of gigs is being queried for every artist
– all that on one page.
So if you have 500 artists, that will do 500 queries.
I proposed a solution in your other thread here:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/lots-of-artists-times-out/
Please check it out and let me know in that thread if that works.
Also, I have just created a pull request that will allow you to switch on pagination for the artists page, and also will give you sorting option by order number, id, or name.
Cheers,
Andras
