Support » Plugin: YITH WooCommerce Gift Cards » Gift Card Redeeming Issues

  • I have several issues. We had a customer with a $50.00 gift card code. They had a cart total of $54.33 and instead of the system deducting the $50.00 and requiring the customer to pay the difference ($4.33), it gave a discount of $4.33 so the transaction would equal the total of the gift card they had. I cancelled that transaction and we redid it to equal less or equal to the gift card but this transaction says the total is $0.00 at the end of it. Not only that but when I go to the list of gift cards to see if it deducted the amount from the gift card on this second transaction ($46.35), it says the balance is still $50.00. What should happen is when a customer finishes entering their gift card code and applying it, it should deduct the gift card from the total and then leave a remaining balance to be paid by credit card or whatever. After applying the gift card, the option to use a credit card section disappears completely. Also, when I sync this purchase with Quickbooks, it shows it was paid by a Visa Card vs a Gift Card which I have no idea why.

Here’s another one that is totally botched up. This gift card was applied to the total twice which makes no sense.

    Items Subtotal: $322.20
    Shipping: $0.00
    Gift card: 822021: $25.00
    Order Total: $272.20
    Paid:
    $272.20

    Hello there,
hope you are doing well! 🙂

We have been testing but unfortunately, we were not able to replicate this issue. It seems to be an incompatibility with another plugin, the theme, or with a customization, so we suggest you to make some tests only with WooCommerce and a default WordPress theme installed, to check if the behavior is the same or if the problem is solved. If so, enable again the plugins one by one to check which one is causing the problem.

Let us know any news, please.

    Have a nice day!

I’m not sure what you did to replicate the issue but it’s quite clear it doesn’t work correctly. View the screenshot below of how I replicated this issue. The math isn’t correct. It’s doubling the gift card value for at least the second post I made.

Also, I am reviewing switching to another gift card plugin since this one has way too many bugs and issues as stated in my first post. However, there is no export option in the FREE version? In order to export my current gift cards I’d have to pay for the premium version just to get my current gift cards out?

    Hello there,
We hope you are doing well! 😄‍

Did you test the plugin alone only with WooCommerce and default WordPress theme activated?

Other plugins/themes could affect on the behaviour of our plugin. For that reason, we need to know where is the error appearing.

In order to answer your other question, you are right. The free version of the plugin doesn´t have export functionality.

Let us know any news, please.

    Have a nice day!
