    Hey,

I am a beginner at both WordPress and PHP in general, so apologies if this is a stupid question.

I’m trying to write a custom template for showing a single podcast that will work with my theme. As far as I can tell all of the exposed functions for the plugin return pre-formatted HTML for the_content() and when hooking into the ss_podcast_html filter.

On top of that, the_content() appears to return the player and a download link, as well as the text in the post.

Is the expectation that you take the formatted HTML, extract what you need and reformat it?

Is there a way to just get an object containing all of the data for that post so that I can format it exactly how I would like?

Thanks, and again apologies if this is a stupid question or I am missing the point.

    Cheers,

    Euan

To get the podcast episode object you will need to do a custom query for the post type ‘podcast’ and any other query parameters you want. Each loop through the query will give you the object for that episode. I cannot help you writing the query because that is basic WordPress functionality and not related to this plugin as such.
