Getting the following error message after adding copyright to footer

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home4/themomwi/public_html/wp-content/themes/thesis_16/thesis_16/custom/custom_functions.php on line 3

Now, I can’t get to my site, or even log on to take the “unexpected ‘<‘” off of footer.

Help, please!
