I exported a CSV of connections from one site, and am trying to import it on another site. However, when I choose the CSV and click “Upload,” nothing happens and I get an error in the console that says, “Syntax error found on row 1. Non-enclosed fields can not contain double-quotes.” More specifically, this:
"{"success":false,"data":{"form":{"id":"cn-import-category","action":"csv_upload","type":"category","nonce":"54f5e8a3c9","_wp_http_referer":"\/wp-admin\/admin.php?page=connections_tools&tab=import","cn-upload-csv-category":"Upload"},"message":"Syntax error found on row 1. Non-enclosed fields can not contain double-quotes."}}"
I haven’t messed with the CSV at all, so I don’t know what’s going wrong. Any ideas? Thanks!

Can you open the CSV file in a text editor such as Notepad and copy row one and paste it as a reply. I would like to see it unaltered.

    Sure! Here is row 1:

    "Entry ID","Order","Entry Type","Visibility","Categories","Family Name","Honorific Prefix","First Name","Middle Name","Last Name","Honorific Suffix","Title","Organization","Department","Contact First Name","Contact Last Name","Address Line 1","Address Line 2","Address Line 3","Address Line 4","Address District","Address County","Address City","Address State","Address Zipcode","Address Country","Address Latitude","Address Longitude","Address Visibility","Phone | Home Phone | Number","Phone | Home Phone | Visibility","Phone | Work Fax | Number","Phone | Work Fax | Visibility","Phone | Work Phone | Number","Phone | Work Phone | Visibility","Email | Personal Email | Address","Email | Personal Email | Visibility","Email | Work Email | Address","Email | Work Email | Visibility","Social Url","Social Visibility","Im Uid","Im Visibility","Link | Website | URL","Link | Website | Title","Link | Website | Visibility","Dates Date","Dates Visibility","Biography","Notes","Photo URL","Logo URL"

If you need the first row of actual data, here it is (with some personal info changed):
    "451","0","individual","public","Uncategorized,Toronto Staff","","","John","","Smith","","Director of Alumni Relations","","Department: Development & Alumni Relations","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","john.smith@college.edu","public","","","","","","","","","","","","https://www.college.edu/wp-content/uploads/connections-images/john-smith/JohnSmith2.jpg.jpg",""

Ok, I see. Well, not the reason for the error as those lines seem fine.

You are trying to import the CSV Export of the Entry data as Categories.

To import Entries, you need the CSV Import addon. Here’s the link:

I hope this helps; please let me know.

Ah, you’re right! I guess I wasn’t reading the label for the import area. I’ll look into the add-on. Thanks for your help!

No problem. Happy to help! I’m still not sure why you would have received that error though.
