I am trying to educate myself with as much as possible before I begin. The first thing I did was go to Lessons, which in turn begins with “Introduction to Blogging“.

But at the bottom of that fist Lesson it has links to the installation process, with no mention of the original lessons.

I was just hoping for a step by step idiot’s guide here and it seems like it’s already going in two directions after first lesson. I suppose the best thing to do is just dive in to the installation process. But it’s easy for me to get lost so I thought I’d ask your opinion, and suggest, (for other slow folks like me), that it be laid out a bit more linear.

I’m sure many of you already think it doesn’t get clearer than it is now, and I would agree that the first lesson was very well written and easy to comprehend. It’s just, OK, now where to go? because it seems like it could be overwhelming fast..

I guess I’m also looking for some encouragement!

One of the better resources for beginners. Everyone has to start somewhere. Even Matt the original author of wordpress had to start somewhere. People in the forums will also help as much as possible.
