There are two plugins also, Dasher and Dashboard Options. I recommend Dasher.
But shouldn’t you have feeds? Isn’t that the whole point, to get people to subscribe to your blog? If you remove it there, will it still be accessible elsewhere?

The feeds, in this thread, relate to those little news items you see when you log in and visit your Dashboard. Nothing to do with your posts or your content.
