  • I am trying to get rid of my multisite network. I deleted the two lines of code in wp-config.php but I need to regenerate my .htaccess file back to the way it was before I modified it to allow the network. How can I get my old .htaccess file back?

If you’ve truly reverted back to singlesite (…is that a word…?) then make a just-in-case backup of your .htaccess to .htaccess-SAVE and delete the original one.

Once that’s done visit your Permalinks option page and reset your permalinks.

Saving them will generate a new .htaccess file. If something goes catastrophically wrong then just copy back .htaccess-SAVE and you’ll be back to square one.
