Getting Registration disabled instead of 404 Error?

    Greetings! My multisite installation has a weird bug that I just now noticed (2 weeks to launch, ARRGH!). You can see the demo here: http://www.novabiomedical.biz and the situation is this, if I attempt to navigate to a directory or blog that does not exist say foo.novabiomedical.biz or novabiomedical.biz/foo I get a registration disabled page. If I attempt to navigate to a page or post that doesn’t exist I get the regular 404 error page.

    How can I force a the 404 error page to appear for ALL situations where a url doesn’t resolve? I’ve already tried reinstalling WPMU and resetting the .htaccess file and I’m out of ideas. Please help!
