Hi – I have been trying to figure this out for days. When I put in an email addy in the Contact 7 form settings in the back end of WP, it doesn’t work.

I am dumbfounded. Everytime I try to submit a form on the front end of the site http://tempstaffingin.com/send-a-resume/

I get error at the bottom that has a red bordered box that says:
Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.

I’ve looked up this type of error in support and nothing seems to make sense.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated! 🙂

  • Are you able to create a test.php file and send an email using PHP’s mail() function? If not, your server may not be configured correctly.

Hi Rob – I’m not exactly sure how to do what you are talking about….

Though the plugin successfully sends millions of emails every day, there are a host of issues that can stop or delay emails on both the sending and receiving ends. It depends entirely on your local Server & WordPress configuration.

You will need to investigate this issue for your particular local configuration.

See Contact Form 7 Email Issues. Most people that work through this information appear to be able to resolve their email sending & receiving issues.

Thanks Buzztone – I have looked through a slew of issues dating back 5 years. I’ve already spent days trying to figure this out. It doesn’t seem like anyone has an explanation that breaks it down into layman’s terms.

    I am beyond frustrated.

IMHO that’s a very cumbersome way to tackle your current problem.

The link I gave you was included by the plugin author specifically to help people having problems like yours. It includes links to a comprehensive and detailed article which covers your issue in detail.

Which steps recommended in this article have worked though already? What did you find?
