getting prompted to enter connection info & can’t connect

    I have several wordpress sites on my unlimited hosting account. Now I created one for a friend on an in individual hosting account. Everything went fine until after I installed and went to update and start adding plugins. I got prompted to enter connection info. SO I entered it exactly as it shows in wp-config and I still can’t connect. I can connect directly to my database using the info I am using and I can also FTP in from dreamweaver so I know it is right. Anyone aware of any issues that can cause this? Why was I prompted to begin with and how can I stop that from happening? Thanks!

    Did you enter your FTP connection details?

    What do you mean, when it prompted me to? Yes I added it to both the WP-config screen and in wordpress when it prompted me to.
