• Hey

I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to rename my site “mysite.com” as opposed to “mysite.com/wordpress”. I ended up following the instructions on this howto: http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory and changed the settings control panel to reflect the new URL, and then realized that that approach was wrong.

I retraced my steps, and replaced all the original files into their original places, but while I was able to restore the non-wp portion of the site, I now can’t access wordpress in any way.

Loading the URL “mysite.com/wordpress” gives me all the elements that were on the front page (text, images, links, footer info – nothing is missing), along with the “Whoops! – Not Found…” search bar, but with no theme formatting – everything is lined up on a blank white screen as if it’s just bare-bones HTML.

How do I get my wordpress site back again?

And is there a way to go to mysite.com (w/o typing the directory) and get the wordpress site?

    thanks
