  • Hi,
I saw your review since I’m subscribing to posts that mention my language. πŸ™‚

I’m on the Swedish volunteer team that translate WordPress to Swedish. If you want this plugin to get available in Swedish, then you can actually help with that. The Unfortunately, this is not a small plugin, though. Currently it contains 1176 strings and right now nothing is translated to Swedish.

You may suggest translations at https://translate.wordpress.org/locale/sv/default/wp-plugins/wc-multivendor-marketplace/
But before/if you start, I strongly advise you to read https://wpsv.se/engagera-dig/stilguide-for-oversattningar/ – that would allow you to avoid many beginners’ pitfalls. There you’ll also find information about how to communicate with other translation contributors in the Swedish community.

Unfortunately, one needs to reach 90% of the strings translated and approved (which currently would amount to 1059 strings) for the initial language pack to get created, so it’s not trivial.

    Hi and thanks

is it ok to use google translate if you were to get into this?? and try to translate.
have translated some on my own site and understand the program. MVH Maria

Machine translation can be a very useful tool to limit the amount of typing and to get suggestions on the terminology. But unchecked machine translation should never be used. They will often not follow our agreed terminology (see https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/handbook/translating/list-of-glossaries-per-locale/ ); often tend to be inconsistent in the terminology; may break HTML markup or references to variables; and every so often contain direct translation errors.

Feel free to join the Swedish Slack via https://wpsv.se/wpsv-slack/ and ask away in our channel “translations” – we’ll be more than happy to help you to get started.
