  • After installing the WP Super Edit plug-in, when I try to view a Post or a Page I get a message “Out of memory on line: 1” and the viewing area is left blank. Logging out and logging in didn’t have any affect. Nor did closing and re-opening the browser (IE8).

  • Try deactivating the plugin and see if the problem goes away. If it does, then the plugin is messing up your site and you shouldn’t use it.

I did that and indeed it did go away. But then I activated it again and added options 1 by 1 until the problem reappeared. I narrowed it down to the “TinyMCE 2.x Compatiblity” option. When I include that option I get the message. I now have all options selected except for that one and it works OK.

I don’t think its really a memory problem (I increased php memory to 64M and it still occurred); rather I think its a bug in that plug-in option.

I’m a newbie with WordPress. Am I supposed to report the alleged bug to someone?

If you go to the plugin directory, locate the plugin and on the right, you can report it by saying that it’s broken. Once you do that, a forum post will appear. You can then write the error in there. Its useful to do that, so that others can find out when some plugins are dodgy.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of crappy plugins. 🙁

I am getting the same – any ideas?
Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 66060288) (tried to allocate 71 bytes) in /home/bmm101/public_html/wp-includes/meta.php on line 341

this is when i try to view pages – i can view posts no problem

plugins seem ok been using them for a long while – site is 6mths old and this has just happened

I have optimize press them on the site but I am sure that this is a word press issue

It’s an issue with your allocated memory for PHP. Try adjusting your memory settings in your PHP.ini file. Typically, that will resolve it.
