Getting Media into the Right place to show up

    My media is in my site with /upload and it’s all there. But I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get it to appear in the “Add Media” area …

    The Add Media section is like a library of the files you uploaded, not actually a file browser. If you don’t upload it via Media -> Add New, or Add Media while writing/editing a post/page (or a few other theme/plugin-specific methods), an entry will not be created for it in the Media Library.

    If you did manually upload the file, like via FTP, you’ll need to use https://wordpress.org/plugins/add-from-server/ to create an entry for it in the Media Library.
