    @samboll

    /wp-admin/install.php

    You have to run that in your browser

    Before you install WordPress, you heed to install an HTTP server (usually, Apache) with PHP support, as well as MySQL database server. Have you done that?

    WordPress is not a desktop application; it is supposed to run on top of an HTTP server and store data in a database. So there is no file you “click to install”; you install WordPress by unzipping the installation archive into your HTTP server’s document root (or a directory under it) and running the install script through your Web browser.

    I have PHP and mySQL on the server so, do I just move the whole folder on the server. If not which file do I move on the server?

    >do I just move the whole folder

    Content only including wp-admin, wp-content, wp-includes, index.php, wp-register.php…

    Some people make mistakes by dragging and dropping the whole folder that they get after decompressing the zip file.

    rrreeefff – seriously – read the installation guide, rather than asking others to talk you through it. The description is pretty clear and easy to follow – it’s all here

    The only trouble is, you might do all this and it might still not work – as in my case – in which case, come back here 🙂

    the reason why I am posting on here is because I did read the installation guide and it still did not work.

    Thanks!
