Getting Hierarchy in Archive Template

    Hi Everyone,

    I am very new to wordpress so excuse my ignorance but I have a very simple yet annoying issue with wordpress. In bloger.com, my archive had a hierarchy to it so that anybody could see the name of the blogs that were posted for each month. However, wordpress, with it’s standard archive template and sidebar does not have this option. Is there an easy fix solution or a plug in that I can get to fix this issue.

    By hierarchy I mean:

    May:
    First Blog
    Second Blog
    Third Blog

    April
    First Blog
    Second Blog

    This is a cool plugin to help you with that:

    Nice thing about that plugin is you can also use it in text widget with this shortcode:

    [cleanarchivesreloaded]

    Thanks for the tip. I just downloaded and installed it but there seems to be something wrong with it. I have made a new page titled archive and set the page attributes to archive. It is currently listing the month and also by category. When I click on the month, it just zooms me to a page with all of the posts. Is there any way of changing this.

    I have also tried to add an archive widget to the sidebar with the hope that the above plugin would enable hierarchy but it does not seem to work either. Just says pick month.

    Any advice on this?

    Might want to review Template Hierarchy and Creating_an_Archive_Index.

    I had no problem with that plugin when using it in a text widget.

    Thanks. I will try my luck with Creating an Archive Index. What were you able to do when using it in a text widget? I though the text widget was for typing things into it so that they would be displayed on in the side bar.

    How does this plugin work with a text widget?
