Just wondering if anyone could take a peek at my blog and give me some suggestions on how to get my header.png to load faster. Thanks. 🙂

  • Your header.png file takes 207ms to load according to this test result. That is normal, IMO. However, you can further improve the performance by loading it from a sub-domain. Also, you can optimize it using Yahoo! SmushIt service, and then you may re-upload it to your site via SFTP or cPanel.

Thank you, Pothi! The WebPageTest site is very comprehensive! I will look into what you’ve suggested. 🙂

Glad to be of some help. 🙂

Saving the image for web in Photoshop as PNG-8 with 256 colors reduces the file size from 9.2 KB to 6.7 KB. This is a negligible and I think you can safely continue to use what’s there on your site.
