  • You’re welcome. Sorry for the inconvenience 🙁

    Thread Starter 8bar

    (@8bar)

Is there any detritus left behind in my WP installation if I simply delete the plugin folder? If so, is it easy to remove?

I have no access to my host (long story). Is there a way for me to rectify this issue since I can’t access my dashboard?

@8bar, the problem was caused by one of the files. So if you remove them, no detritus is left. Only your normal settings will remain.

@motorcop, you’ll have to remove the files from your server to be able to access the admin again. I’m afraid there is no other way. Sorry 🙁

Removing the files from the server via FTP indeed appears to resolve the problem of accessing the admin panel.

Although I watched the directory and all it’s contents disappear from the remote site pane (FileZilla FTP), this morning I revisited the server directory via FTP and discovered the files were still present! I have no idea why or how. All files in the development site are also in the production site so it doesn’t appear I removed anything by mistake.

Either way, I will chalk it up to operator error.

    All is fine now.

I was updating the plugin and am now unable to access my dashboard at all or log in to wordpress. I’m hosting with Godaddy and of course, they couldn’t help or tell me anything except to tell me to go to wordpress.org. They have gotten SO bad, but that’s another story.

Here is the fatal error I’m getting and I have NO idea how to proceed since I can’t log in anymore.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function doing_action() in /home/content/c/d/s/cdsykitchens/html/wp-content/plugins/google-analytics-for-wordpress/admin/class-admin.php on line 616

I’m having the same problem. Can’t login to admin panel after updating this plugin 🙁

Can the plug in author TacoVerdo Yoast Developer or someone from WordPress help janiceadayforbes and me please?

Thought everybody would like to see what Taco man has to say:

    My notes:
    1. this was a free plugin, not a premium one.
    2. now they want money and will go in and install it (YOU CANT LOG INTO THE SITE ANYMORE so unless they plan on hacking it, wtf good would this do?)
    3. Don’t you hate it when people like this put you in a bind with their bad product and then want to UP-SELL you? THIS IS NOT AN UP-SELL SITUATION DUDE. IT IS A “THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE AND YOU NEED TO PUT IT OUT SITUATION.”

    Just ZERO accountability.

Here is what the plugin genius had to say:

    Hi Christie,

    Thanks for your email.
Unfortunately we haven’t been able to verify your license.
If you’ve already purchased WordPress SEO Premium, please send us your license key so we can verify it manually.

If you have not yet purchased the premium version of the plugin, which includes free support, and would like to do so, please refer to yoast.com.

If you are using our free plugin and have questions regarding WordPress SEO, we would refer you to the following 2 options:
Check out our extensive Knowledge Base
    Visit the free forum
If, after checking the Knowledge Base and forum, you still believe you have a bug, you can file a bug report for the WordPress SEO plugin in the following GitHub repository: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide individual support for our free plugins, but I hope these suggestions are helpful.

Do you want us to set up your WordPress SEO for you?
Just order a (Gold or up) Website Review to learn more about SEO, have your website examined by SEO experts, get WordPress SEO Premium for free and have us set the plugin up for you!

    @cskitchens and @janiceadayforbes
The method doing_action() was introduced in WordPress 3.9.0. If you are using an older version of WordPress, I’d advise you to:
    – remove the google analytics plugin from your WordPress install via FTP (this should enable you to get back into the admin panel)
    – backup the WordPress database and files (in case something goes wrong with upgrading)
    – upgrade WordPress to the latest version (please check if the server your website is on has the minimum requirements for this version)
    – reinstall the plugin
    Hopefully this helps.

@TacoVerde: you might want to update the ‘Requires 3.8 or higher’ that’s mentioned for this plugin, as it seems at least 3.9 is now needed.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare win_is_writable() (previously declared in /home/u805727311/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php:1684) in /home/u805727311/public_html/wp-admin/includes/misc.php on line 557

This error solution me send send……
