    If you didn’t get a reply, possibly our emails are into your spam folder.

    Make sure that you use a correct email address of customer support – support [at] wowslider [dot] com.
    Also, make sure that email addresses support [at] wowslider [dot] com and cs [at] apycom [dot] com are not in your ignore list.

    1) Try to use “Import from Folder” method. Please see attached screenshot. Copy generated module to “./wp-content/plugins/wow-slider-wordpress-image-slider-plugin/import/” folder and click “Import from Folder” button.

    Maybe your module has too big size. In this case “Import from Folder” method will fix the problem.

    2) If problem will persist:

    * Notice, that WOWSlider plugin works with WordPress v.3.1+. If your version is older, plugin will now work.

    * Make sure that you have “write” permission to folder
    “./wp-content/plugins/wow-slider-wordpress-image-slider-plugin/import/”.

    * If you use PHP older than version 5, try to add following line:
    “AddHandler php5-cgi .php”

    into your .htaccess file.

    Also, you can insert WOWSlider manually.

    Thank you for the reply, finally.

    No, there has not been a single reply to the 3 emails I sent – even in the Spam Folder.

    Can you let me know where to find instructions to insert WOWSlider manually.

    I love the product, just a little bit disappointed with the lack of response. But ok, maybe this is an exception and hopefully will get better response on support emails next time.

    Update : Import from Folder also did not work. The file size is 1.08 MB (I’ve created files larger than that before and they worked fine, so file size is not the issue).

    Second request for this –> Can you let me know where to find instructions to insert WOWSlider manually.

    Make sure that email addresses support [at] wowslider [dot] com and cs [at] apycom [dot] com are not in your ignore list. Also, you can try to add these addresses in your address book.

    You can use WOWSlider as standard Javascript files.
    To insert the WOWSlider into your page:

    1) Create your slideshow using WOWSlider.
    2) Publish it on a local drive in any test folder:

    – open Gallery->Properties->Publish or click ‘Publish’ button on the main menu panel;
    – select ‘Publish to folder’, click ‘Browse’ button and select any local folder
    – click ‘Publish’ button

    3) Open index.html file from the saved folder in any text editor (Notepad for example) or you can:
    – open index.html page in any browser
    – right click on the page
    – select view source of the page.

    You’ll find ‘engine’ and ‘data’ folders in this saved folder also.

    4) Copy code for HEAD and BODY sections of WOWSlider and paste it in HTML tab in the place where you want to have a slider, for example:

    ...
    <!-- Start WOWSlider.com HEAD section -->
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="engine1/style.css" media="screen" />
    <style type="text/css">a#vlb{display:none}</style>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="engine1/jquery.js"></script>
    <!-- End WOWSlider.com HEAD section -->
    ...
    <!-- Start WOWSlider.com BODY section -->
    ...
    <!-- End WOWSlider.com BODY section -->
    ...

    5) Notice, you should copy ‘data’ folder with images and ‘engine’ folder with all files into the same folder with your own webpage.

    6) Preview your website in the browser.

    That’s all.

    Thanks, I will try this out sometime this week and give feedback here.

    Email address support [at] wowslider [dot] com is already whitelisted on my side, but cs [at] apycom [dot] com has just been provided by you above, so I’ll whitelist that as well. Perhaps, it’s worth mentioning that email address on your website as well.

    Hi Gen_A,

    I had the same problem some weeks ago and I found out that the plugin was ok, but that the software distributed by WOW-slider.com was out of date. What I did do, I downloaded the latest version of the software (have a look at the e-mail when you purchased the software to get the latest “ful version”). Install that on your computer, open the Slideshow you have created before and “publish” that again. Upload that new zip file to your wordpress site. I was able to resolve the problem like that!

    To start coding in your html code will maybe solve also, but that I guess is not the idea of a non-coding software πŸ™‚

    I hope this will work!

    Hi again Gen_A

    Forgot something rather important in my latest answer!

    This happened after I updated the plugin in WordPress itself! Always good to keep both at the latest version or alternatively do not upgrade none of them! But that is not something I recommend. You might have bugs/security issues in older versions. Always good to update on both sides. It will also most probably give you more possibilities in newer versions!

    Hi Guido, thanks for your input, but both the WP plugin and the Wowslider software were up-to-date at that time. I’m yet to try the manual route (pretty busy).

    When I reported the issue, the plugin was up-to-date (at that time the available version was 2.5.3). The Wowslider desktop software was also up-to-date.

    Upgrading the plugin just recently to 2.6 resolved the issue (without having to change the desktop software version nor regenerating the zipped file).

    So, in this particular case, there was an issue with the plugin version then (2.5.3), as that was the only thing that was changed in this scenario.

    I have the newest version of wow-slider plugin and wordpress and I get that wrong slider error message… What’s the problem?

    Hi Pemurtok, I’ve reopened this ticket, so you won’t have to open a new one for the same topic. But so you could help them (Wowslider) help you, specify the exact version you are using.

    WordPress version is 3.4.2 and Wow-slider plugin: 2.6

    Still not working here. WP 3.4 & 3.5 both not working. Wow slider 2.7.

    Wrong slider. Add a slider in .zip format.

    I use the WOW-tool and go step by step as in the tutorial, but there is no .zip file anywhere. Doing it by hand isnt doing the trick either. Think i will have to look for another slider.

    I am using WordPress 3.7.1, Desktop version 4.8 and Plugin Version 4.0 and I am having the same problem. I just purchased the license and this is happening now. I tried to do what someone early suggested about opening the slider and then re-publishing but it did not work. Still getting the ‘wrong file’ message. Any ideas??
