# Getting Error Message When Installing Plugins – Help Please!

 * I am getting the following error message any time I am trying to install a plugin,
   any clue??
 * I did fresh manual WP install (and everything went fine)
 * >  Unable to create directory /home/dalan/public_html/newsite/wp-content/uploads/
   > 2011/03. Is its parent directory writable by the server?
 * Any help on how to get this fix this, it would be greatly appreciated!

 * Try changing the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still
   have problems, try 767, 775 or 777. Once your uploads are working, change the
   permissions on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works
   OK.

   thousands) of posts with exactly the same question getting exactly the same answer.
