    Hi All.

My blog has been running for a long time (a couple of years). Today I upgraded the to lasted version, and upgrade some add-ons and themes as well.

It all seemed to go fine, so I was just about to leave and do something else. I therefore pressed Log Out… But then I got an error “504 Gateway Time-out (nginx)”. Since then, I have not been able to reach my blog.

    blog.rccruise.dk

    Can help?

A little side note. I do not have a backup, yes you heard me, no backup! So please help 😛

    A small update:

I can actually access the admin-page, by going to:
    blog.rccruise.dk/wp-admin/
BUT only on the same computer, where I’m logged in. So it doesn’t work from a different computer….

On the upside, this does mean, that I have access to my different pages – at least I can do a copy/paste backup then.

But how do I get my blog up and running again?

    Yet another small update.

I can edit all my posts, and sides. This means that I can copy the raw editable text to Notepad.

But if I go to Tool => Export, and want to export a file with all these details, I get the same error. What does this call try to get access to, that does not work? Could it be a hint?

That error is a server error. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? Have you tried using another computer or ISP?

    Thanks for your reply.

I have tried on 2 computers, in different browsers. Can you get access to my blog?

What kind of a server error can it be?

No it does not load I get:

    504 Gateway Time-out

You need to check with your hosting company.

I already did, they blame the update has caused some files to be corrupted. How can i prove them wrong?

What kind of server error can I tell them to be looking for? Could it be a database error?

Ask them how to access the server error logs for your site.

Or you can start on the standard troubleshooting steps which are to use FTP to rename the plugins folder on the server –

    wp-content
        plugins.HOLD

If that does not change anything, try also renaming your active theme’s folder –

    wp-content
        themes
WHATEVER THEME YOU ARE USING - ADD HOLD TO THE THEME FOLDER

DING DING DING. We have a winner.
The plug-in ‘contact-form-7’ was the root-cause. It is now deactivated. Thanks a lot for this help! Should a bug like this be reported to someone?

    A couple of problems left:
    1) I used to have a menu at the top, instead of just Home and Subscribe to RSS. That doesn’t work anymore: When going to the theme settings, it tells me that my theme does not support a menu…. But it does?
    2) Now, every post is just view at its full size. I used to have excerpt… Any help?

    Thanks.

By the way. This is my theme:
    http://wordpress.org/themes/hanging

    Did you look at this?

    http://wordpress.org/themes/hanging

That theme is very unlikely to work with current WP.

So, by installation version 1.0 – and not the newest 1.3, I got the menu to work! Great!

Only thing missing now, is to only show a little part of each post. That doesn’t even work with newer themes. Any setting that I’m overlooking?

I’m guessing that you’re looking at exerpts vs. content –

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Excerpt

I already read that, but didn’t really understood what I was missing.

However, it turns out, that you should edit the php-file:
    http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/how-to-display-post-excerpts-in-wordpress-themes/

Now it all works! Thanks a lot for your help.

I am having an access problem using ws-ftp where I get a “530 login incorrect”. When I try to access the server from this link: http://www.prostateawarenessfoundation.org/wp-admin It seems to accept my id: jbohan but not my password. The password was sent from WordPress.

I think you should create a new thread for this question. Your question is not related to mine.
