Support » Fixing WordPress » Getting ERR_CACHE_MISS when hitting back button from cart page

  • Hello.

I’m using WooCommerce and products with variants. Whenever you add a product to the cart then visit cart and (using browser back button) back to the previous page (product page) you get ERR_CACHE_MISS page which says:

Confirm Form Resubmission This webpage requires data that you entered earlier in order to be properly displayed. You can send this data again, but by doing so you will repeat any action this page previously performed.
Press the reload button to resubmit the data needed to load the page.

I assume it’s caused by using POST method but is there any way to get rid of this in easy way?

Edit: I found exactly same topic ( https://wordpress.org/support/topic/getting-err_cache_miss-when-hitting-back-button-from-cart-page/ ) but problem is linked to caching plugin (I’m not using any caching plugin).

    Thanks a lot.

  • Hello @asavix

For your case, this is a normal behavior it occurs like this in every WooCommcerce website because of the post method as you have highlighted earlier. However, even when the page is refreshed the items on your Cart would still remain the same so everything is working well as expected.

I hope this answers your question.

    Hello @tarhe

Thanks for your answer. I know everything works just fine but shop owner claims that other shops builds on WooCommerce doesn’t have something like this.

    @asavix

You can ask the shop owner to try with any other WooCommerce shop to see for themselves. I just did with mine and others and I got the same behavior. However, this can also depends on your setup on how you’re adding items to your cart.

    You’re right all along.

    I hope this helps.

I found some WooCommerce shops and it works like owner wants to. I don’t know what exactly cause that (I mean – what are different ways you adding items to your cart).

    Thanks for your time.

WooCommerce was meant to work like that out of the box. Perhaps for security reasons.

Those other online store you saw might have used some sort of workaround. Another way to add an item to cart is to get the ID of the product then you can make a link like so

    http://wpshop.com/cart/?add-to-cart=6573

which you can manually add to your add to cart button on the product page, but this can be a lot of work.
