Getting content from sub sites to main site on WP multi site?

    I set up a word press multisite network to manage all of our student publications at our University.

    Ideally my goal is that the home page for the main site would pull in content from each of the subsites, much like the “featured posts” widget does from a category on a traditional site.

    Except I want to pull in the last few entries on each particular sub site. (last three stories from our newspaper’s site, last three articles from our magazines site, etc, to the main site home page)

    Can I do that?
