I’ve checked the box to get the “Billing address” from the customer, but when that box is checked, WooCommerce throws an error.

On the cart page, I get the following error when I click the “Checkout with PayPal” button

“An error occurred while processing your PayPal payment. Please contact the store owner for assistance.”

On the checkout page (even though the customer has entered their billing information), I get the same error.

Does something need to be configured on PayPal’s end to allow this to happen?

Yes, paypal need to enable this feature. Disable it until this happens. Or don’t enable it – you don’t need the billing address since it’s all stored PayPal side.

The client wants this… They are also using the fraud validation extension and one of the tests is the shipping matching the billing.

The billing address isn’t displayed in PayPal as far as I know.

    Thanks

Right; you’ll need to contact PayPal to have that enabled. We cannot do it from our side.

Well, I’ve talked with two different PayPal Support people and got different answers. The second person I talked to said that information is only available to PayPal Pro subscribers (can only be enabled for those account holders).

If that is the case, I’m okay with that but state that in the plugin help files. Granted, I suspect PayPal doesn’t make things easy given I keep getting different answers from their own people though…
