Support » Themes and Templates » getting admin panel to “see” a new theme

  • i have uploaded a theme by ftp into the themes folder.
    i can view it in cpanel, with chmod 755, right there with the other theme.
    i cannot make the admin panel –>presenttion–>themes show this new theme as a choice. it was bult using the theme generator as listed a wp, upoaded correctly etc.
    any clues?
    all help appreciated.

  • You need to have a comment at the very top of the style.css file. It should look somewhat like this:

    /*
    Theme Name: Name of your theme
    Theme URI: http://www.site-with-info-about-your-theme.com
    Description: A description of your theme.
    Version: 1.0
    Author: Your Name
    Tags: Different, coma separated, key words, that help, find or describe, your theme

    You can write some extra info here. The Theme URI is only applicable if you publish your theme for others to download and use.
    */

    thank you very much… just saw this and apologize for slow thanx.
    will see what that does.
