This is probably really easy but I haven’t been able to find an “easy” answer so far. All I need to do is find the number of comments that have been posted in reply to a particular blog post. The site is in .net and the page in question will simply have the blog title followed by the number of comments and will then link off to our wordpress site.
Thanks for the reply but I don’t have access to any APIs from the .net site – this is external to our wordpress site. I was thinking of getting the XML of the particular post and counting the comments nodes? But so far I haven’t seen how to get the full XML of a particular post?

Hi
This is probably really easy but I haven’t been able to find an “easy” answer so far. All I need to do is find the number of comments that have been posted in reply to a particular blog post. The site is in .net and the page in question will simply have the blog title followed by the number of comments and will then link off to our wordpress site.
For example, this particular post http://douglassonders.wordpress.com/2010/09/16/manhattan-rooftop-portrait-at-night/ has 77 comments (at the time of posting) but if I get the feed of it http://douglassonders.wordpress.com/2010/09/16/manhattan-rooftop-portrait-at-night/feed/ then it doesn’t give me all the comments? It only returns me 22 comments? If I could get an accurate xml feed then I could just count the item nodes?
So what’s the best way of doing this? I’m sure this is simple but this is my first look at WordPress.
Many thanks for any help.
Regards
John
