• So I was one of the people who wanted to just stick with Classic Editor forever because I was very proud of my coding skills and all, but Gutenberg has won me over at last. There are blocks for things I wouldn’t have even thought to do on a webpage. Since making the switch, my site has entered the modern age!

It’s growing all the time, and it certainly doesn’t do everything yet, but I can tell the developers are constantly studying the add-on plugins and trying to integrate those into the core features of Gutenberg. For now, there are some great third-party add-ons that work really well and do more than I could ever imagine. There’s really no need for a page builder like Elementor, especially when you have themes that let you turn off titles, headers, footers, etc. like Astra (what I use) does.

I also LOVE the addition of the patterns library. I originally thought I should use like linktree or one of those for a link in bio page for social media, BUT THEN I saw a link in bio pattern. So that’s that. All in one place and looking snazzy.

Overall, even though I really hated switching over to Gutenberg and aren’t a fan of the lag (I write most of my posts offline in Word and then copy and paste because of this), Gutenberg won me over, and my site would not look so great without it.

    Thanks, Automattic!
