Get username from external page

    Hello,

    I have a link in my WP when I click it opens a protected page in a new browser window.

    Since only members can login into my WP, I want my external page to use user’s login name, so I can bypass and avoid a double authentication.

    Can I store the WP-username into a PHP SESSION and they use it in this new page?

    What is the best method do accomplish this?

    if ur talking only about the username and its on the same site then a cookie will do it, if its a remote get u can use it as a GET parameter such as http://www.othersite.com/?user=andremta
