Would be nice if it didn’t require to bloated jetpack that slows down your site. I found woosalestax.com so I’m using it now for clients that need to collect for a single state.

Indeed, the Jetpack connection is required for WooCommerce Shipping & Tax extension.

If you’re not using any other Jetpack functionality – feel free to disable Jetpack modules you’re not using:
