    I need to get rid of meta links on my page, how do you do that?

    You edit your theme files and remove the bits and pieces that are responsible for displaying them.

    Simpler and more direct way, without requiring learning that YET;

    Logged in as admin, go to Appearance, then Widgets, then ADD the Widgets that you do want. Until you add some explicitly, WordPress shows Search, Pages, Links, Meta, etc. by default and you cannot remove them.

    Once you add one or more, though, the other ones that were shown by default are no longer displayed. You’re back in control and you don’t have to edit your theme to accomplish that, just a few mouse clicks.

    Thanks, that’s exactly the hint I was looking for. Couldn’t edit my existing meta links after I upgraded to ver 2.7.

    I tried that too, but the ones that I did not ad are still visible and I can’t remove them. What to do?

    @berlinnl: sounds like your sidebar isn’t widget ready. You need to add some code to sidebar.php:
