There is a check box on the post/page edit screen where you can disable comments. Just update this option on the pages which have the add comment line.
You can disable this globally in Dashboard -> Settings -> Discussion, but if it’s turned on for existing content, you’ll still need to disable them individually.

There is not “settings” option in the dashboard.
also recall seeing this disable comment option a while ago when i first bought the theme but it’s not visible on any page. there is only an option for “yes” or “no” for a contact form…. but that is not it.
please advise.

if this is not visible, click ‘screen options’ near the top right of theses pages, and tick the ‘discussion’ tick box; then scroll down below the post/page editor, where you should find the ‘discussion’ field to disable comments.

@boda82 – thank you for that image link. I did have that and clicked OFF all the comment radio buttons. after saving changes – the comment box still existed.
@alchymyth – YES, it worked! The discussion tick box was not on in the screen options.

Thanks it works fine for me, just what I’m looking for, had the same problem, the image link didn’t work anymore, the explanation from alchymyth was just what I needed
