Get Parent Title of Menu

    Hi
    How can i get the Parent Menu item name from the Menu i clicked in to a variable.

    Suppose i have Parent 1
    —child 1
    —child 2
    Parent 2
    —Child 1
    —Child 2

    If click on Parent 1 i want to to get “Parent 1”
    If click on Parent 2 i want to to get “Parent 2” as a string in to a variable.. No need of sub menu items. So please help me friends.
