It is certainly possible, but would require coding a special template. That is probably too much to accomplish in this forum.
You may need to hire someone to do the job. You can post a free job request on jobs.wordpress.net.

Thanks. I will look into the code. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

consider adding this within the lop, after the line with the_content()
:
<?php global $withcomments; $withcomments = 1;
comments_template('/categoryarchive-comments.php'); ?>
the created a new file in the theme’s folder, named categoryarchive-comments.php
use a copy of commments.php to start with, and remove any code with wp_list_comments()
to avoid outputting comments texts; just leave the general conditional coding and the line with comment_form();

Thank you very much alchmyth. As ever your advice is excellent and what you suggest works perfectly. Thank you also for the relevant links to the WP codex, that’s just what I was searching for.

I have a series of posts appearing underneath each other on a category page. I want the comments box to appear underneath each post. It does appear on the single post page but I want it to appear under each post on the category page. Is this possible?
