    Hi @ideagomedia,

First and foremost, thank you for your kind words. We are committed to ensuring that our plugin meets all your requirements and remains up-to-date.

Regarding your query, ‘I am trying to find a way to get an anchor link for the episodes that aren’t yet on the website,’ – could you please provide more context about your issue? Specifically, how did it come that some anchor episodes are present on your site while others are not?

    Best regards,
    Serhiy.

    Hi @zahardoc thanks for replying

Once I finished setting up the website, I filled out all the information in your plugin and finally used the import tool.

The import tool works very well, since it imports not only the episode, but also its description, photo and even gives the option to share it on all platforms. I realized that when editing each episode individually in the “link” field, all episodes imported by the Seriously Simple Podcast tool contain an “anchor” link like the one I wrote in my initial query.

The ideal would be to run the import tool and have it only create new episodes, not duplicate those that are already available. Apparently this is not possible so I wanted to know if there is any way, included or not in the plugin, to obtain the “anchor” link of my episodes in the same way that the plugin’s import tool does.

I hope I have explained my query well, but if not please ask me and I will provide any additional details because I really want to continue using Seriously Simple Podcast on my website.

    Hi @ideagomedia,

    Thank you for the clarification.

Unfortunately, at present, it’s not possible to exclusively import new episodes using this tool, as it is primarily designed for one-time imports. It means it will import the specified feed entirely. However, you can delete duplicates afterward.

Additionally, I would recommend considering the creation of new episodes directly on your website.

    Best regards,
    Serhiy.

Is there any way to get the link from anchor like the following
    https://anchor.fm/s/e171a3cc/podcast/play/75039102/https%3A%2F%2Fd3ctxlq1ktw2nl.cloudfront.net%2Fstaging%2F2023-7-25%2F344358496-44100-2-78d8a32e8b4be.m4a

That link was created by the importation tool.

    Hi @ideagomedia,

Could you kindly clarify whether the link you provided is the expected result or the current result? Additionally, could you let me know which link you currently have?

    Best regards,
    Serhiy.

    Hi @zahardoc,

The provided link is the expected result. However, I am only able to get that kind of link using the one-time importation tool.

My question: Is there any way to get that exact kind of link from other source than the importation tool?

    Thanks for the time

    Hi @ideagomedia,

Did you try to just copy-paste this link to the Episode file field?
Also, please pay attention that there is a Media File Prefix setting that you can use to specify the prefix for all your episodes ( Podcasting -> Settings -> Feed Details -> Media File Prefix).
So, you can put https://anchor.fm/s/e171a3cc/podcast/play/75039102/ to Media File Prefix, and another part of the URL to the Episode file.

Actually I was trying THAT link. I only have that one I shared because I got from the one time importation tool. That’s the purpose: to get that link from new episodes after you use the one-time importation tool so you don’t get duplicated episodes.

    Hi there Adrian,

Jumping in for Sergey here. Thanks for your message.

The plugin isn’t able to automatically fetch links from Anchor (or any other podcast hosts) to add it to the Podcast episode details for the episode file.

As Sergey mentioned, the import is meant as a one-time process to migrate an existing podcast over to a WordPress page with Seriously Simple Podcasting activated.

So for all new episodes that publish to Anchor, you’ll have to manually create a new episode on WordPress and grab the audio file URL from Anchor (you can also open your RSS feed https://anchor.fm/s/e171a3cc/podcast/rss in Chrome, and search for the first enclosure URL found in the feed to quickly get this audio URL).

You could consider using Seriously Simple Podcasting along with Castos (though still publishing from WordPress). When connected to Castos using an API key, this will upload audio files over to Castos and pass back a Castos-hosted audio file. This means you could manage your podcast directly from WordPress while still safely hosting your podcast somewhere.

I hope that helps but let us know if you have any other questions about how the plugin might work with your Anchor podcast.

También no dudes en contactarnos en castellano si prefieres.

Thanks and have a great day.

Hi @amongthestones thanks for your reply and: for the solution 🙂

Inside the RSS feed searching for “enclosure” you can jump between episodes!

I’ll definitely check the Castos integration.

Again thanks for the help and congratulations to the rest of the team because this plugin is not only best option but also a great option.

Muchas gracias y felicidades por tan buen trabajo.
