German Umlauts (ä,ö,ü)

Hello,
I spend hours to figure out why I couldn’t import my csv-file into the plugin. It turned out that it didn’t work because the file contained German Umlauts like ä, ü and ö. I replaced the Umlauts with ae, ue and oe and it worked but since the Umlauts are part of our language it’s not a solution we’re happy with. Is there any other way to fix this?
