thanks for wanting to help with the translation! That’s really very nice!

At this point, there’s not yet much sense in starting to translate. I’ll be publishing version 0.7-beta in the next days, which is the earliest version for which translating makes sense. There are still a few strings that might change, and also new ones that will be added (for example the Help, but that might even come later).

    Best wishes,

    Hey Tobias,

I will start with this new version in the next days. The translation must not be complete, but I just don’t want someone else to repeat the work 😉

    Best, Marcus

    Hi Marcus,

ok 🙂 That will be great. That “someone else” will be me anyway 🙂
Oh, and for the translation, it would be nice, if you would use the German translation of the WP-Table Reloaded plugin as a starting point. It would be good if there are not too many differences, like changed or new words and strings. Some parts can probably just be copied.

    Hi all,
To localize the tables while keeping the admin pages of it in English an extra tab with all the text used by the plugin could be handy. I am talking about the “Search” next to the search field, “Page x of Y pages” at the bottom of the table … If you add a button on that localizing tab where people can submit their translations in no time you’ll have several translation available.

    Hi Greg,

thanks for your suggestion, but TablePress already contains a lot of translations for these strings, just check the “i18n/datatables” directory.
Now, while TablePress will by default load the frontend translation in the language that you use for WordPress itself (because that’s most likely also the language of the content), you can easily get a different translation for these string:
Simply change your table Shortcode from something like

    [table id=123 /]

    [table id=123 datatables_locale="de_DE" /]

    (for example).

In order to change certain strings, just install and activate https://github.com/downloads/TobiasBg/TablePress-Extensions/tablepress-change-datatables-strings.zip as a regular WordPress plugin. Then copy the file of your language from “/tablepress/i18n/datatables/” to the folder “tablepress-change-datatables-strings” and make the desired modifications.

    Best wishes,
